Airways liner "Brisbane" of the "Commonwealth"'
Class is a D.H. 86 four engined ten-passenger biplane, five of which
are used by the Company on the Singapore-Brisbane section of the Imperial
Airways route from England to Australia, Machines of the "Commonwealth"
class are similar to the Imperial Airways "Diana" Class,
and are built and engined by the De Havilland aircraft Co., Ltd. The
D.H. 86 air liner is also extensively used by air transport companies
in other parts of the world. It normally weighs, fully loaded, 4.5
tons, and has a cruising speed of 145 m.p.h. |
