3 twenty-one passenger air liners are used by United Airlines, which
Company recently completed 100,000,000 miles of flying in ten years
of operation, on its coast-to-coast route from New York to California.
The D.C. 3 is an enlargement of the D.C. 2 which it resembles very
closely. In luxury and completeness of equipment it surpasses any
aircraft at present in operation in the United States. Fitted with
two 1,150 h.p. Pratt & Whitney "Wasp" engines it has
a cruising speed of 193 m.p.h. Its loaded weight is 24,900 lbs. |
