three-engined, ten-passenger monoplanes form the biggest proportion
of the fleet of the Société Anonyme Belge d'Exploitation
de la Navigation Aérienne (S.A.B.E.N.A.), but are gradually
being replaced by more modern machines. They operate on the European
services radiating from Brussels, on the fortnightly services from
Brussels to Leopoldville, Belgian Congo, and on the regular services
operated by S.A.B.E.N.A. in the Congo. The F.VII/3M is fitted with
three 230 h.p. Gnôme-Rhône "Titan" engines and
both machine and its engines are built in Belgium under licence. It
weighs 11,000 lbs. fully loaded, and cruises at 93 m.p.h. |
