
| The Heinkel He.
70 was specially developed for Deutsche Luft Hansa as a high-performance
mail or freight carrying monoplane. It is used on the Stuttgart-Seville
section of the mail service to South America, where the mails are
handed over to a Junkers Ju. 52 to be flown to Bathusrt Gambia, whence
they cross the South Atlantic in a Dornier flying-boat. The He. 70,
which is also used on European services, has accommodation for four
passengers and a crew of two. Fitted with a 600 h.p. B.M.W. VId engine,
it has a cruising speed of nearly 200 m.p.h. Its loaded weight is
7,430 lbs. |
