| We illustrate here the military version of the famous Airspeed Envoy. The Envoys supplied to South Africa have been of the convertible type, which four men can transform in four hours from a six-passenger liner to a light bomber or reconnaissance machine, complete with gun-turret and bomb-racks. The war-time crew would consist of pilot, navigator, wireless operator and rear gunner. |
