| The Miles Magister
is a light two-seater training aircraft, ordered in quantity by the
R.A.F. It is of wooden construction embodying the modern stressed
skin principle, and powered by the 130 h.p. Gipsy Major engine. There
is a full set of instruments in each cockpit, and blind-flying hood
for the rear one. The machine attains a speed of 145 m.p.h. and a
height of 18,000 feet. Its clean lines and low-wing monoplane design
make it a suitable preliminary to the modern high-powered monoplane. |
