| Messrs. Saunders-Roe
have built for the R.A.F. considerable numbers of "London"
flying boats as illustrated here. They are designed for open-sea reconnaissance
and coastal patrol duties. The accommodation of these self-contained
craft includes pilot's compartment with dual controls, officers' wardroom,
and positions for navigator, engineer and wireless operator. The galley
includes stove, ice chest, etc., and a work bench, dinghy and spare
propeller are also carried. There is sleeping accommodation for all
the crew. |
