
| The "Satyrus"
is a four-engined flying-boat operating on the Mediterranean section
of the Empire routes of Imperial Airways. It has accommodation for
sixteen passengers in one large cabin, with completely-equipped steward's
compartment and toilet facilities aft. There are also large baggage,
freight and mail holds fore and aft. The "Satyrus" was built
by Short Bros. (Rochester and Bedford) Ltd. and is fitted with four
Bristol "Jupiter" engines. It weighs, fully loaded, 14.3
tons, and has a cruising speed of 105 m.p.h. |
