ten-passenger monoplanes are used by Delta Airlines on its Atlanta-Dallas
service, one return flight being made by day and one by night. The
introduction of this type resulted in a reduction of 2¼ hours
in the time previously taken to fly between these two cities. The
"Electra" is an all metal monoplane with retractable undercarriage
and two 450 h.p. Wright "Whirlwind" engines, an unusual
feature being the monoplane tail with small fins and rudders at the
extremities. Its loaded weight is 10,000 lbs., and it cruises at 180
