Stinson Model "A"
The Stinson Model "A" a three-engined air liner built by the Stinson Aircraft Corporation is a low-wing monoplane of fabric covered metal construction and is fitted with retractable undercarriage. The main cabin accommodates eight passengers, and aft of the cabin is a seat and locker for the stewardess. The Model "A" is fitted with three 260 h.p. Lycoming engines giving it a cruising speed of 162 m.p.h. Its loaded weight is 9,875 lbs. Central Airlines uses this type on its Washington-Detroit service, which operates five times daily in each direction.
