advent of the internal combustion stationary engine was an event almost
as revolutionary as the invention of the steam engine, it enabled farmers
and industry to power all types of machinery and freed up manpower for
other tasks. Within a few years of being introduced these power
units were fitted to a chassis and by employing chain drive to the driving
wheels the first farm tractors came into being.
