Steam Tank Engine Hecate

Steam Tank Engine "Hecate" No: 949.  Photographed at Eastleigh Near Southampton 1950.  Southern 0-8-0Tank Loco 949.  Built in 1904. This engine was allocated British Railways No. 30949, but scrapped in 1950 without being
renumbered.  In 1932, as it was too heavy for the line the East Kent Railway
exchanged it with the Southern Railway for a Beattie 0-4-0ST.
